ESL One Birmingham 2020 Update

Dear Dota 2 fans,

As described in our last update on March 12, we have continued to evaluate the daily developments surrounding the global COVID-19 situation. Today, we are announcing the extremely difficult decision to reschedule ESL One Birmingham 2020 powered by Intel into 2021. This year's tournament itself will be transformed into an online tournament. Everyone here at ESL could not have been more excited to bring Dota 2 back to Birmingham for the third year in a row, but the safety and well-being of fans, players and crew members are our utmost priority. We will be back in 2021 and all tickets remain valid.

In the spirit of competition, ESL One Birmingham 2020 will be played and broadcasted online with regional online leagues from May to June with total prize money of $335,000 USD split across all regions.

It’s the best, and more importantly, the safest decision for players, coaches, team staff, fans, and our event crews while still keeping the core of esports alive. We are happy that our sport can go on even in the most difficult of times and hope to bring you some great entertainment during the quarantine period.

All tickets remain valid for the 2021 event. We will announce the new date for this soon. If you prefer a refund for your tickets, please contact the Ticket Factory, where your tickets were originally purchased.

We are currently working out the final tournament details and will continue to update this page in the next few days. If you have further questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our support team via email here.

Stay safe, stay inside and enjoy some Dota,

Your ESL One Team
