Your ESL Team

First Major in Brazil

We’ve witnessed Major Champions from Brazil but never a Brazilian Major. 2020 is a year of firsts for us at ESL but also for the inferno of fired up fans in Brazil. In 2016 we stopped in São Paulo for ESL Pro League S4 and thereafter created fond memories in the Mineirinho Arena for ESL One Belo Horizonte during 2018. At the seaside city of Rio de Janeiro, where passion leads the dream, the Jeunesse Arena will attempt to house thousands of embering fans ravenous for world class Counter-Strike.

The Passion

It has been over 1,200 days since a Brazilian team has won a Major. It was the core of the now MIBR roster who were the champions of back-to-back Major tournaments in 2016. However, since then the Danish have reigned sovereign over the realm of Counter-Strike. ESL One Rio 2020 offers a ripe opportunity for both Brazil and the world to grab lay claim to the greatest achievement that Counter-Strike has to offer and enter into a new chapter of Counter-Strike history.

The Dream

Rio de Janeiro, known for its vast river systems, deep blue skies and carnival parties will soon adapt to the stampede of passionate Counter-Strike fans dashing to the Jeunesse Arena after they fought for so many years to get their own major until it finally all pays off. Boasting a prize pool of $1,000,000 and distinguishing itself as a Masters Championship within the ESL Pro Tour, 24 teams will gather in the luscious country of Brazil to fight for glory and wealth. ESL One Rio 2020 will be closer to the fans. Closer to the players. Closer to the game.

Rio 2020 is part of the ESL Pro Tour

All participating teams will collect points for the Road to Cologne and further upcoming Master Championships
