Update: Tuesday, May 05.05.2020
Dear CS:GO Fans,
This update comes with a heavy heart from everyone at ESL. Following Germany’s official ruling that no large gatherings can take place until the end of August, 2020 we are announcing that the 2020 edition of ESL One Cologne will take place without a live audience this year. At the same time, we unveil the ESL One Cologne 2021 dates: July 16 -18 with all purchased 2020 tickets remaining valid for next year’s event.
We will be back in LANXESS arena on July 16-18 in 2021. If you have already booked your trip to Cologne in 2020, we advise to cancel and reschedule your bookings. Your purchased tickets for 2020 remain fully valid for ESL One Cologne 2021. If you already know you can’t make the new date, you are able to request a ticket refund until the end of 2020.
If you got your ticket via Eventbrite, you can request a refund directly in your account using the email address you purchased your ticket with. If you bought your ticket via Eventim, just contact their support team here and request a refund. If you purchased your ticket at any other selling point, you can request a refund there by showing them this update to prove that we, as the event organizer, officially allow refunds for ESL One Cologne 2020. Please contact our support team via email@example.com if you have any questions.
In the spirit of esports and to keep the competition for players going, this year's ESL One Cologne will be transformed into a broadcasted tournament without a live-audience on August 21-30. Our team is currently working out the final tournament details to still bring ESL One Cologne to you, the fans, with a solution that is the best and safest for players, coaches, employees, and talent. More information will be available soon.
For the past six years, we have greeted thousands of fans from all over the world at the Cathedral of Counter-Strike. And no matter where everyone came from, all of us came together as one in Cologne. We celebrated our favorite game, added new names to our friend lists and just had a good time together while CS:GO history was being made right in front of us on the big stage.
We are going to miss every single one of you this year.
Your ESL Team
Update: Wednesday, March 11.03.2020
As we are monitoring the daily dynamics and are in contact with the venue and Ministry of Health, we want to be as transparent with you, the fans, as possible. Please see below for the latest status. We will update this news item here over the next weeks.
Status today is that ESL One Cologne 2020 is happening as planned.
Yesterday, the Ministry of Health and LANXESS arena have announced that large shows and gatherings taking place in the upcoming weeks (March 10 until April 10) have to be either rescheduled or canceled.
ESL One Cologne 2020 is happening further out this summer on July 10 - 12 and therefore not directly affected by the restriction. That being said: The health of fans, players and our crew is our highest priority. We will continue to monitor both potential restrictions and the overall safety dynamics to ensure the well-being of all attendees. The global Covid-19 scenario is dynamic, and the direction it is heading might change in a few months from today, so there might be changes to the event as we monitor the situation daily.
We will make sure to be as transparent as possible with you and will continue to update everyone in case the situation changes. Our support team is happy to assist in case you have any concerns about your visit to ESL One Cologne 2020. You can contact us via email here.
